Mini-spaces

The Boxing Gallery, Milan

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, The Boxing Gallery was opened with a talk by director An Paenhuysen about boxer and poet Arthur Cravan. A cravanesque action with the paper boat edition of minìsae took place during the screening of the 1924 film Entr’Acte. The film is said to be inspired by the life of Cravan, who disappeared in 1918 at sea.

The Rooftop Gallery, Padua

On Saturday, 26 October 2024, The Rooftop Gallery was officially inaugurated by director Camilla Crispino with an exhibition project surrealists everywhere! of the flying curators Mariko Mikami and An Paenhuysen. For the occasion, minìsae did an reenactment of Rosemary Mayer’s Temporary Monuments on the rooftops of New York in the 1980s. An orange balloon celebrated the change of summer time into winter time.  Accompanying the screening of Entr’Acte, a 1924 surrealist film recorded on the rooftop of Théâtre Champs-Elysées in Paris, minìsae launched its paper boat edition from the rooftop in Padua.

La Bonheur, Berlin

7 June and 25 August 2024: La Bonheur is a garden and house for art. It finds itself in the midst of the Schrebergärten in Plänterwald, Berlin and is run by artist Charlotte Dualé and curator An Paenhuysen.  Sometimes, when minìsae is in town, they hang out in the garden.

Conversations with the Body
A performative talk by Gilad Ben Ari, March 8, 2023, Galeria SpazioCorteQuattro, Cividale del Friuli

How do we answer the questions asked by our bodies? What role do we entrust to the sensitive and embodied experience? How can the body become the main vehicle of an artistic and a human journey? In Ben Ari's practice, the experience of the living body, usually neglected by most or even forgotten, is the very essence of the research: the "animal" dimension of the human, the primal adherence to the senses and perceptions, to the movement that emerges spontaneously, are all that he asks us to pay attention to, all that really exists. How much effort, how much time, how much listening can we offer to our bodies that are none other than us?

Gilad Ben Ari is a performer and dancer who conducts personal research on the mechanics of attention.
